Crash Course
Our Crash Courses are the perfect introduction to the world of pottery on the wheel and they really do live up to their name! With our guidance, you’ll learn the fundamentals and shape your very own bowl, exploring basic techniques such as cylinders and bowls. Not sure if pottery on the wheel is for you? This is the perfect way to find out without too much commitment! Your finished masterpiece will be glazed by us and ready for pickup at our studio about three weeks after the course.

Beginner Class
In this personal and intensive course, you’ll learn everything you need to create pottery independently on the wheel. Starting from a lump of clay, you’ll progress through shaping, trimming, firing, glazing, and finally enjoying your own handmade pieces, perhaps sipping your morning coffee from a mug you crafted yourself.
The course has limited spots, ensuring personal guidance and a steep learning curve. Over 6 consecutive weeks, you will master the basic techniques and produce 6-12 unique pieces. The course is suitable for beginners or anyone looking to refresh their skills.

Beginner - Level 2
Ceramics is more than a craft, it’s a practice that grows with patience, repetition, and curiosity. This intermediate course is designed to help you build a steady routine at the wheel while expanding your skills. You’ll go beyond the basics and explore techniques such as throwing larger amounts of clay, creating plates, and adding handles.
This course is ideal for those who have already taken a beginner pottery wheel class or who bring some prior experience.

Summer/Winter School
Looking for a special experience without leaving the city? Our Intensive Pottery Week is the perfect alternative to a holiday, spend your break in our cozy studio, learn pottery, and connect with new people. Over five days, you’ll dive deep into clay, practicing daily and developing skills much faster than in a weekly class.
The course runs from 10:00am-15:00pm and includes lunch, beverages, clay, glazing and firing for up to 15 pieces. At the end of the week, you’ll not only take home your own handmade ceramics but also unforgettable memories of a creative city retreat.

Ceramic Painting
Pottery painting is a beautiful way to slow down, get creative, and make something truly personal — whether it’s a cup, plate, or vase. Just like working with clay, it has a meditative effect: most of our guests forget about their phones and simply enjoy the calm, cozy atmosphere of our studio.
It’s an experience you can enjoy on your own or share with friends. On request, we’re happy to serve drinks or even a small apero on request to make your time extra special. We also host fun painting events like Bubbles & Paint - follow us on Instagram to stay updated.
You can choose from a variety of hand-poured earthenware pieces, with prices ranging from CHF 5–40 per piece. After painting, your ceramics will be glazed and fired by us, ready for pickup in 7–10 days.
Duration: 1 session, 2 hours
Price: 70.- CHF
The price includes CHF 25 credit to use towards ceramic pieces.

Events at Studio Roka
At Studio Roka, you can create not only ceramics but also lasting memories and maybe even discover a new passion along the way. Whether it’s a team event, bachelorette party, birthday, or simply a cozy afternoon with friends, we’d love to host your special moment in our Creative Space.
We welcome groups of up to 25 people and offer a variety of experiences: handbuilding, pottery wheel, or ceramic painting workshops or a relaxed pottery painting event. To make the day even more enjoyable, we can also provide different catering options.
Just let us know your group size, preferred dates, and what you have in mind. We’ll create a tailor-made proposal that’s perfect for you.
Price: start at 75.- CHF per participant.
Open Atelier
Feeling inspired to work with clay but not ready for a membership? Our Open Atelier is the perfect place to unwind, create, and let your imagination flow. You’ll have access to all the facilities of our studio, and one of our friendly instructors will be on hand to offer tips and guidance whenever you need a little support.
This is not a class, it’s a space to explore, experiment, and enjoy the process at your own pace. Skilled potters and those familiar with clay will also love the Open Atelier as a welcoming studio to create freely, or as a first step toward a membership.

Firing Service
If you are working from home but do not have your own kiln, you can bring your pieces to Roka Creative Space and we will fire them for you. Come by during our opening hours. Please note, we only fire high-fire stoneware clay for both bisque and glaze firings.
Important: For new glazes, make test tiles first. Customer responsible for any equipment damage due to glaze application or incorrect clay info. You can find a short manual on test tile making here.
Kiln Size: 49 cm x 57 cm / 100 liters
Firing Temperatures: Bisque or glaze firing at 1005 °C / Glaze firing at 1225 °C

Private Lesson
Do you have your own studio but find yourself stuck in the same place when working on your pottery?

Cancellation policy

We are a small studio and work in tiny groups to assure the highest quality. For this reason, each student is important to us. The following policy applies. Full refund or free rescheduling for cancelations prior to 72h. 50% store credit in cancellations within 24-72h. No refund or rescheduling possible within 24h prior appointment.
Course cancellation by the organizer: If the course is canceled by the organizer, the course fee will be refunded in full.

In the event of an insufficient number of participants or other unforeseeable factors, Studio Roka reserves the right to cancel a course. Courses are conducted with a minimum of four participants. Participants will have the option of receiving a refund for the course fee or rescheduling for a future course.
Studio Roka makes every effort to provide early notification of cancellations whenever possible. Our commitment is to inform participants as soon as a cancellation decision is made, ensuring transparency and allowing for appropriate adjustments to be made.
